In Key Stage 3, your child will be entering the Secondary Curriculum. Key Stage 3 covers the Cambridge Assessment of International Education from Years 11 to 14. At this stage, your child will begin studying familiar subjects in more depth.
At this critical time in adolescent development, Woodcreek School aims to provide not only a strong academic foundation for future studies, but also a sense of responsibility, creative and critical-thinking skills, and the practical skills a global citizen of the 21st century requires.
At this stage, students may begin to elect subjects of personal interest in preparation for completion of their secondary education and possible preparation for pre-university studies. Opportunities for the development of skills such as leadership, problem solving, collaboration and enquiry are built into the curriculum and enhanced by a wide variety of co-curricular programmes. Formative and summative assessments are carried out throughout Key Stage 3.
Parents are kept informed of their child’s progress through an end of term report and parent/staff consultation evenings.
